Science London has asked 20 London based fashion designers to re-design the Lab-coat for today’s researcher!
But fabric is not just fabric these days either, so to coincide with the launch of the new lab coats, they will be exploring the latest advances in nanotechnology and ‘smart’ materials with a panel of experts giving their views on science and design in the future.

This National Science & Engineering Week, the people of Reading will see a variety of science activities and events brought to them courtesy of the Thames Valley Branch. We are pleased to announce the formation of the brand new Surrey Branch with the Committee as follows; Ian Stewart – Chair, Rosh Sellahewa – Vice-Chair, Jonathan Lintott – Secretary, and David Wood – Treasurer.
The branch is currently planning a programme of events for the remainder of 2010, and is therefore looking for interesting speakers and/or Surrey-based events to link-up with. We are also looking for enthusiastic volunteers to to take on various roles within the Branch. Please contact Tom McKenzie if you have any suggestions for speakers or event ideas, or would like to be part of the Surrey Branch!
