CREST Award - international success

CREST''''''''''''''''s entrants at the 21st EUCYS

Last month saw Courtney Williams, a CREST Award winner at the Big Bang, find success at the 21st European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS) in Paris.

The six day event featured entries from across Europe. Three students represented Britain and CREST – Courtney, Hannah Stuart and Robert Tann. Courtney was awarded the EIRO prize for her project, 'Listening for Ghost Particles: the Acoustic Cosmic Ray Neutrino Experiment'. Her prize is the opportunity to spend a week working with the scientists at CERN.

All three students were proud to represent Britain and really enjoyed the experience, Hannah said, 'I’ve had a week I will never forget, met some amazing people and had some great opportunities'.

Courtney, Hannah and Robert won the chance to visit Paris by first achieving success at regional and national levels. If you'd like to know more about these opportunities, then visit: www.britishscienceassociation.org/regionalfairs
